Flower Delivery in Santa Monica, CA — Same-Day by Flowerbar Florist

Flowerbar Florist delivers hand-tied bouquets across Santa Monica, from the bluff-top blocks along Palisades Park to the walk-streets of Ocean Park. Order by 3:00 PM Pacific and your flowers leave the same day from our Downtown LA studio at 801 S Olive St. We have been designing and delivering across Los Angeles since 2021. Santa Monica is a cross-town run of roughly 13.5 to 16 miles, depending on the address.

Neighborhoods We Serve in Santa Monica

The city is only 8.3 square miles, but the kind of address changes block by block.

  • Downtown Santa Monica — between Wilshire Boulevard, Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard: hotel desks, condo lobbies, reception counters.
  • Wilshire–Montana — between Montana Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, with the boutique row from 7th to 17th Street.
  • North of Montana — the estate blocks toward Adelaide Drive and San Vicente Boulevard, farthest from our studio.
  • Ocean Park — Pico Boulevard down to the city line and out to the sand, built around Main Street and the Neilson Way walk-streets.
  • Sunset Park — inland and quieter, below Pico Boulevard. Santa Monica College sits here, at 1900 Pico Boulevard.
  • Pico Neighborhood — the corridor south of Santa Monica Boulevard out to Centinela Avenue, anchored by Virginia Avenue Park.
  • Mid-City and Northeast — the inland neighborhoods east to Centinela Avenue, Mid-City from Lincoln Boulevard and Northeast from 21st Street. Both hospitals and Bergamot Station sit in Mid-City.

Landmarks and Delivery Destinations in Santa Monica

Hotels on Ocean Avenue and on the sand

Hotel Casa del Mar (1910 Ocean Way) and Shutters on the Beach (1 Pico Boulevard) sit on the sand. The Georgian Hotel (1415 Ocean Avenue) and the Fairmont Miramar (101 Wilshire Boulevard) sit on the bluff inland of Ocean Avenue. We deliver to all four. We hold no standing arrangement or preferred-florist relationship with any hotel: you book the room, we bring the flowers to the front desk and leave them under the guest's name, not to the room.

Hospitals

We deliver to Providence Saint John's Health Center at 2121 Santa Monica Boulevard and to UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center at 1250 16th Street. We hold no arrangement with either hospital; they are addresses we deliver to. Give us the patient's full name and unit, and the hospital passes the flowers on under its own rules. UCLA's adult intensive care unit states that "to control infections, fresh flowers and plants are only allowed for certain patients whose immune systems are functioning normally," and asks visitors to check with the nurse first. Saint John's publishes its own ICU restriction, quoted in the FAQ below.

Offices, campuses and Silicon Beach

Santa Monica anchors Silicon Beach, the Westside tech and media corridor. We deliver to the Water Garden at 2425 Olympic Boulevard, the Colorado Center block spanning Broadway and Colorado Avenue, Bergamot Station at 2525 Michigan Avenue and Santa Monica College. We hold no arrangement with any of these properties; they are destinations, not partners. Include a suite or floor number. Corporate and recurring orders are welcome.

The visitor blocks

We deliver to the Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica Place, the Pier at Ocean and Colorado, and Palisades Park. The Wednesday farmers market closes Arizona Avenue at 2nd Street, 8 AM to 1 PM. We take weddings and events, including at the Annenberg Community Beach House on the sand.

How Same-Day Delivery to Santa Monica Works

Our nearest studio is Downtown LA, 801 S Olive St. Measured from that door, Santa Monica is roughly 13.5 to 16 miles depending on the address: about 13.6 miles to the two hospitals and about 16 to the far north-west of 90402. Clear, the drive takes 25 to 35 minutes; westbound on the I-10 in the afternoon peak, 45 to 75 minutes or more.

  • The same-day cutoff is 3:00 PM Pacific. Order before it and your flowers leave the same day.
  • Express is a 2–3 hour service. Whether it holds for a Santa Monica address depends on the hour, so ask us when you order.
  • "Ready Now" one-hour express comes from a limited curated selection. We do not promise the hour to Santa Monica; for anything faster than same-day, ask us when you order.
  • SMS updates arrive at each stage: confirmed, out for delivery, delivered with a photo.
  • The guarantee. If the flowers are not fresh and beautiful when they arrive, we replace them or refund you.

How Santa Monica's Year Runs

Santa Monica keeps two clocks and they do not agree. The inland office corridor along Olympic Boulevard, Colorado Avenue and Broadway is a Monday-to-Friday city. The beach neighborhoods, Ocean Park and the walk-streets and the Pier, fill at the weekend and empty again on Monday. The two hospitals, on Santa Monica Boulevard and on 16th Street, keep to neither clock and take flowers every week of the year.

The markets are the fixed points in the week. The downtown farmers market closes Arizona Avenue on Wednesdays and again on Saturdays, eight until one, right through the year; there is a Saturday market at Virginia Avenue Park on Pico Boulevard and a Sunday one on Main Street. If you want to see what is actually in season on this coast in a given week, those are the places it shows up first.

Santa Monica College sets the academic year, and it does not keep to the usual one. The fall semester opens at the very end of August, a winter session runs through January, and spring does not start until the middle of February, which is late for a California college. Commencement happens once, each June, on Corsair Field on the main campus off Pico Boulevard. Santa Monica High School holds its own ceremony in June too, so both of the city's graduations land in the same few weeks.

Then the shape of the year. The beach and the Pier take the city over from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and the Annenberg Community Beach House on Pacific Coast Highway takes weddings and private events through the city all year, with the summer the busiest stretch for the building itself. The Fourth of July parade runs the length of Main Street each year in the middle of the morning. The Santa Monica Classic road race comes each September, starting on Ocean Avenue and finishing near the Pier.

The cold half of the year is not empty, which surprises people. The Pier's own Locals' Night is a winter fixture rather than a summer one: free, on the third Thursday of the month, from September through to May. An outdoor ice rink stands at Fifth and Arizona from early November to the middle of January and opens daily. The tree lighting on the Third Street Promenade falls on a Thursday evening in the first part of December, and Holiday Thursdays carry on along the Promenade for the rest of that month.

California Flower Seasons, Month by Month

The fields that supply the Los Angeles market sit up and down this same coast: garden roses at Carpinteria to the north, ranunculus and protea on the north San Diego County coast to the south. That is why a California season is worth publishing rather than glossing over. Here is the one we work to.

What California grows, and when
Flower California season
Stock January to May
Ranunculus February to May, best in March and April
Pincushion protea February to April
Wax flower December to May
Sunflowers March to October
Kangaroo paw May and June
Garden roses grown in a field, not under glass Mid-April to November
Dahlias June to October, strongest in August and September
Leucadendron Safari Sunset September to November
Eucalyptus, myrtle, rosemary, salal, olive, snapdragon Cut year-round

One flower is missing from that table and will never be added to it. California does not grow peonies. There is no peony grower in this state, so every peony sold in Los Angeles has been flown in, which is exactly why you can order one in any month you choose. Ask and we will build with them. Just know that the month has nothing to do with a California season, and that the quality moves accordingly. Freesia, hydrangea, tulips, lisianthus, anemone and carnations belong in the same bracket: on the shelf all year because the freight runs all year, not because anything nearby is in flower.

Santa Monica Delivery FAQ

What time do I need to order for same-day delivery in Santa Monica?

3:00 PM Pacific is the same-day cutoff. Santa Monica is a cross-town run of roughly 13.5 to 16 miles from our Downtown LA studio, and the westbound I-10 is slow in the afternoon peak, so if the flowers need to arrive by a particular hour, ask us when you order.

Can you deliver to a guest at a Santa Monica hotel?

Yes, to the hotels along Ocean Avenue and on the sand, including The Georgian, the Fairmont Miramar, Hotel Casa del Mar and Shutters on the Beach. We have no preferred-florist relationship with any of them. We bring the flowers to the front desk under the guest's name rather than to the room, so send the guest's full name and check-in dates.

Do you deliver to Providence Saint John's and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center?

We deliver to both addresses, 2121 Santa Monica Boulevard and 1250 16th Street. Include the patient's full name and unit, and the hospital passes the flowers on under its own rules. Saint John's patient guide states that "for your protection, flowers and plant arrangements are not allowed in our Intensive and Coronary Care Units, as well as our Sub-Acute Unit." UCLA's adult intensive care unit states that "to control infections, fresh flowers and plants are only allowed for certain patients whose immune systems are functioning normally," and asks visitors to check with the nurse first.

Which Santa Monica ZIP codes do you deliver to?

All five street-delivery codes: 90401, 90402, 90403, 90404 and 90405. Santa Monica also holds 90406 through 90411, but those are PO Box-only. If you were given one, ask for a street address before ordering.

Is one-hour express delivery available in Santa Monica?

Not as a blind promise. "Ready Now" is our one-hour express from a limited curated selection, and Santa Monica is a cross-town run from the nearest studio. What we quote here is same-day delivery with the 3:00 PM cutoff; for anything faster, ask us when you order.

What happens if nobody is home in Santa Monica?

You get an SMS at each step: a confirmation when the order is placed, an out-for-delivery note when it leaves the studio, and a delivered message with a photo, so you know as soon as it arrives. If nobody may be at the address, that is worth discussing when you order: an Ocean Park walk-street and a Sunset Park driveway ask for different things. Tell us about the address when you order, or call us on +1-626-888-8449.
